ABOUT

Pine Grove Cemetery is a private, non-denominational burial ground owned and maintained by the Pine Grove Cemetery Association, a non-profit, tax-exempt entity under Section 501 (c) (13) of the IRS Code. Its location on a lovely quiet country road, is peaceful and serene. The adjoining land is under permanent protection from development, ensuring that the cemetery will remain tranquil in perpetuity. A variety of purchase options are available, including a memorial garden for cremains, individual plots for traditional burials and large family plots accommodating multiple burials and ensuring space for subsequent generations.

The cemetery is a window into the area's past, featuring the work of local 18th and 19th century stone cutters and quarry workers. It also offers details of the lives of early residents, much of which is not recorded anywhere else.

Q: HOW IS THE CEMETERY MAINTAINED NOW AND IN THE FUTURE?
OPERATING ACCOUNT: Pine Grove Cemetery is fortunate to receive ongoing public contributions which maintain the beauty and care of the property, including lawn mowing, clean up, poison ivy & bramble removal. We also send out a year-end Annual Appeal requesting renewal contributions. We always welcome contributions to continue improvements and maintain the grounds.

LONG TERM CARE INVESTMENT ACCOUNT: Managed by a local bank, our long-term investment account covers headstone repair, cleaning, recovery, tree planting, fence installation, etc.

ENDOWMENT ACCOUNT: The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation manages our endowment, the Pine Grove Cemetery Fund, where donors can easily contribute by way of the community foundation with testamentary gifts and other estate planning instruments to provide for long term care and maintenance of the cemetery in perpetuity.
